Florida's new voting machines!

Via Insignificant Thoughts

FBI worried about new terrorism tactics.

There are recent FBI warnings about the fact that Al-Qaeda may Use new methods to hijack or bomb airplanes. To tell you the truth, I'm not that worried about this. Yes, Airplanes still remain a target, but Right now, everyone is looking at Airlines and Air safety. In short, they have made the airplane a much, much more difficult target. I'm more afraid that Terrorist groups would target other places, like Stadiums and Daycare Centers or maybe the food/water supply, or a Dam, or something else. Yes, they are homocidal maniacs, but they aren't idiots. There are Hundreds of thousands of good terrorist targets that are not defended as well as Airlines and Airports are right now. Petroleum pipelines or Tank Farms such as the one in Greensboro, NC, Storage or transport mechanisms for Toxic Chemicals, Hospitals, Malls, etc. etc. Right now, I think we are past the point of diminishing returns when it comes to Airline safety. Taking away nail clippers and tweezers isn't doing any good at all. Instyead, we need to make more of an effort at infiltrating and eliminating Terrorist groups, both here and overseas in the countries that fund them.

Due to a heavy load at work, Jury Duty and an upcoming vacation, Blogging will likely be sporadic until Monday September 23rd. I'll probably post a bit here and there, but not nearly as much as Normal. Any of the links to the left are good reading, But especially Best of the Web, Instapundit, Lileks and USS Clueless. Make sure to check them out if you don't do so already.

Jackbooted Liberalism

Doug Bandow at NRO has an excellent article listing civil liberties trampled by the Clinton/Gore Administration. As much as the Bush administration (and particularly Ashcroft) is maligned in the media, I wonder what would happen if they called for even 1/10th of these kind of things. I suppose I've gotten spoiled by typical blogs however. I really, really wish that Bandow had added Links or footnotes, or some other references within his column. Some of the items, like the increased audits of Conservative groups, I'd love to see some documentation on.

More Google Searches

magnetic soccer -- In German, nonetheless!. Sadly, only number 298. Did sony quit making phones? -- Not as far as I know. But I am number 4 in the search. "beverly hillbillies" oppressed women -- They did? Granny sure didn't take any backtalk from anyone. I'd consider her more liberated than most. Number two in this search. buying horseshoes 18 on this search. Of course, can there really be more than 17 successful Horseshoe e-commerce sites? Trojan on a French AOL search page. Ye gods! can there be anything more vile than a combination of The french and AOL? Well, other than maybe Osama and Barney... Anyway, it wasn't too surprising that I showed up number 9 in their search. A real-life historical example of a victorious military force (i.e the Trojans) probably wouldn't be too high on the priority list of a bunch of French computer illiterates, would it?
